Public hearing on human rights in South Asia

The Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament is organising a public hearing on South Asia on Monday 5 November, focusing on Pakistan and Bangladesh. Mr Mohammad Tahseen, representing the Pakistan Coalition for Free and Fair Elections (PACFREL) will present the situation of civil and political rights in Pakistan. A group of six PACFREL members had visited Brussels in mid-June this year to lobby the EU for free and fair elections in Pakistan and for President Musharraf to shed the army uniform.
