The lack of sanitary napkins and other menstrual protection material for girls and women menstruating has an enormous negative impact on their lives during their entire reproductive life cycle.
To further explore and address the problem - especially its negative impact on girls' education, experts from the health, water and sanitation and education sectors, together with producers and exporters of menstrual sanitary material and waste handling and packaging companies, have all been invited to a stakeholder meeting on 28 November in The Hague.
The meeting will provide an important opportunity to discuss future strategies for improving the menstrual hygiene of girls and women in developing countries.
