Economic, political situation in Zimbabwe still poor, says local writer

In this article by an underground Zimbabwean writer, we see the reality of the political situation in Zimbabwe.  Despite the coalition government agreement reached in the aftermath of the contested 2008 elections, the country is far from being on the road to recovery.  Early gains in stabilising the economy were not followed up, and unemployment and lack of public pay remain critical problems, with Zanu-PF's appropriation of public funds a key concern.  The human rights situation is also dire, with little chance of free and fair elections, according to the MDC, which is not willing to go to the polls as a result.
