The call of Zimbabwean women

Zimbabwe_Hearing_EPThe participation of women in Zimbabwe’s process of democratic transition was at the centre of the public hearing at the European Parliament in Brussels on 6 October 2010, hosted by Judith Sargentini, member of the Greens Group, and organised by the EEPA ('Europe External Policy Advisors'), a group of consultants specialised in EU development policy.

Speakers at this hearing, hosted by Judith Sargentini (Member of European Parliament), were the Honourable Sekai Holland, Co-Minister of the National Healing and Reconciliation Committee, Senator Sabine de Bethune of the Belgian Federal Parliament, Kati Leinonen from the Council of the European Union, Zimbabwean journalist Grace Kwinjeh and Betty Makoni, founder and Director of Girl Child Network Zimbabwe and Chief Executive Officer of Girl Child Network Worldwide.
