In an interview to Europolitics, Development Commissioner Piebalgs talked about the achievements and challenges emerged from the Busan Conference.
He recognised the progresses made by China, which endorsed the final declaration, but stressed that it still has much work to do, starting by also endorsing the Paris and Accra declaration.
Although he claimed that the Euro crisis won't affect the role of the EU in development aid, he acknowledge that austerity measures being implemented by European countries are likely to have negative effects.
