During the the sixth edition of European Development Days, currently taking place in Warsaw, one of the sessions was focused on the topic 'South-South and Triangular Cooperation: Competition or Complementary for Development Effectiveness?'
During this session, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Secretary-General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, has stated that 'South-South versus North-South cooperation is not an either-or option. South-South cooperation is an addition to traditional North-South cooperation, capable of bringing added value to international partnerships.'
Jerzy Pomianowski, Polish Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, has added that 'Although definitions are still weak, the content is clear: cooperation is about sharing knowledge, sharing experiences and sharing wealth. This is the core effort of cooperation – solidarity to create a more equal world.'
