The VODAN-EEPA group

EEPA is collaborating with VODAN-Africa in the VODAN-EEPA Group on the objective of creating data equity and ethical inclusive AI, as well as creation of voice for voiceless communities. The goal is to create an African federated data space, where information is held securely and in-residence – the data stays with the data owner, but can still be used and ‘visited’ under well defined principles.

Collaboration

The collaboration is built on FAIR-OLR principles.

The VODAN-EEPA network consists of 88 health facilities, 11 Universities and 9 countries in Africa; forming a bottom-up, granular network in the capillaries of society. The VODAN-EEPA group focuses on the following use cases:

  • Decision-making regarding Neonates – ICU priorities
  • Patient information pods to connect care for patients with brain damage
  • Early-warning on infectious diseases
  • Interoperable monitoring of cardiovascular diseases with patient data and wearables
  • Refugee risk factors
