UN Human Rights Council interactive dialogue on Eritrea – no change in human rights situation

At the UN Human Rights Council, an ‘enhanced interactive dialogue’ on human rights in Eritrea took place on 12 March. It included an update from the Special Rapporteur on Eritrea, Sheila Keetharuth, multiple countries and human rights organisations. Eritrea itself was not there to take the floor.

Libya-discussions in the European Parliament highlight key issues

The key players believe that the core difficulty in shaping policy on Libya is the division between the structure of the Libyan Political Agreement and the external issues the country is facing, as well as the geopolitical interests of the various groups involved and (human) trafficking.
